About Debbie
With almost 20 years experience in hospitality, Debbie is no stranger to picking up awards in recognition of her work and commitment to the industry. She has also featured on TV – competing against the country’s top chefs. Her talent for combining the freshest Scottish ingredients with bold flavours creates a unique dining experience. One such award includes Scotland’s biggest food, drink, hospitality, and tourism trade show ScotHot where she picked up a gold medal in the modern seafood category.
Debbie started her culinary journey at Fife College where she was encouraged by the talented lecturers to push herself and career at every opportunity. Having completed 3 years of college she spent the start of her career working around Scotland and even ventured to the Isle of Skye and the iconic Three Chimneys where she worked with produce considered by many to be the best in the world. Abundance of beautiful Seafood and flavorsome meat reared on the many crofts only miles away. Debbie spent many years in the East Neuk of Fife which allowed her to be closer to home whilst continuing her love of working with quality Scottish seafood.
At the young age of 26 Debbie began working as a lecturer and remained in education for 10 years teaching professional cookery. This has been her most rewarding job so far. Inspiring and leading the next generation of chefs has been one of the biggest achievements of her career so far. She has and continues to mentor students through competition work including Springboard’s future chef and ScotHot.
In 2016 Debbie was asked to cook for the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh in Dundee city chambers as they toured the city – which she states was no different to cooking for any other.
Debbie travels the country to cater for customers including some exclusive business leaders. She has become a sought-after private chef having created many memorable dining experiences.
